Meet Your Practitioner
Judita “Judy” Tanko
DOMP, RMO, DN · Osteopathic Manual Practitioner
Judy brings together years of hands-on bodywork education with advanced study in manual osteopathy, sports therapy and naprapathic therapy. Her approach is thoughtful, individualized and grounded in understanding how the body moves as a connected system.
Her goal is simple: listen carefully, assess thoroughly and provide hands-on care tailored to the person in front of her—not just the symptom that brought them in.

Her approach
Care begins by listening to the whole story.
Pain, stiffness or restricted movement rarely exists in a vacuum. Your history, movement, activities and previous injuries all help provide context.
Judy's osteopathic approach looks at relationships between different areas of the body rather than automatically focusing only on the painful spot. Depending on your presentation, that may include assessing joints, muscles, fascia, posture and movement patterns.
Treatment is then adapted to your individual findings, comfort level and goals.

Treatment philosophy
Support the body rather than force it.
“My role is to listen, assess, and guide that process, helping you move better, feel better, and reconnect with your body.”
For example, someone with lower-back discomfort may also have relevant findings in the hips or pelvis, while someone with neck pain may have contributing movement patterns in the upper back or shoulders.
This does not mean that every symptom has a distant cause. It means the practitioner considers the broader movement picture before choosing an appropriate treatment approach.
Areas of focus
Hands-on care shaped around the individual.
Back Pain
Whole-body assessment may consider spinal movement, the pelvis, hips and other relevant factors.
Neck Pain
Assessment may consider neck mobility alongside the upper back and shoulders.
Sciatica
Radiating leg symptoms require careful assessment to determine whether manual care is appropriate.
Fascial Release
Soft-tissue-focused techniques may be incorporated when appropriate.
Cranial Osteopathy
Gentle cranial techniques may be used within broader osteopathic care.
Visceral Manipulation
Gentle abdominal and surrounding tissue techniques may form part of selected treatments.

Your first appointment
You don't need to know which treatment you need before you arrive.
The first step is understanding what you're experiencing—not choosing a technique from a menu.
Your appointment begins with discussion and assessment. From there, Judy can determine whether osteopathic manual therapy is appropriate and which hands-on approaches best fit your presentation.
